House Portrait

Just completed and delivered this "portrait" of a friend's house.  A lovely subject, and it was great fun working on all the details.

First Portrait!

I recently completed this portrait (my first!) of the darling one-year-old grandson of friends in Louisville - the original photo is shown first, followed by the early work- in- progress, and then the final portrait.  I have also shown a close-up of the detail on the shirt as well as the face.  It was such fun to do!  It was very important to have a great photo from which to work, with high contrast and plenty of color.

Tuscany

I created these three paintings for my friend Kathy, based on her photos of a recent trip to Tuscany.  Kathy picked out a triptych frame for the three 4" x 6" paintings (shown in the fourth photo).  Though challenged with such tiny paintings, I thoroughly enjoyed the process, and Kathy was pleased with the final product!

"Heading Home"

Delivered this last week to a friend . . . I have done a number of versions of this painting - with one, two, three and four children "heading home" through the snow . . .

Three-Day Workshop

just completed three wonderful days of painting at the Pendleton with my teacher and six other nice people!  here are the three paintings which I did -- the first two were still-life set-ups, and the third was from a photo taken in Michigan.
